SAP Yard Logistics & EWM Functional SME (SAP S/4HANA)

Location: Remote; work supports Department of Defense/Department of War programs. Must be able to obtain a Federal Secret security clearance; active clearance is preferred.

What you will do

• Serve as the functional subject matter expert for SAP Yard Logistics and SAP Extended Warehouse Management within SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Design and configure yard structures, checkpoints, gate processing, vehicle movements, dock-door assignments, yard tasks, and warehouse execution processes.
• Configure inbound, outbound, and internal warehouse operations, including receiving, staging, inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Lead integration among SAP EWM, Yard Logistics, Transportation Management, Sales and Distribution, and Materials Management.
• Translate operational requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and configuration designs while collaborating with Product Owners and Agile teams.
• Lead fit-gap analysis, integration testing, user-acceptance testing, cutover, deployment, post-production stabilization, reporting, troubleshooting, and process-improvement activities.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain a Federal Secret security clearance; active clearance is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.
• Seven to ten or more years of SAP functional experience with deep expertise in SAP EWM and Yard Logistics.
• Extensive hands-on experience configuring SAP EWM in SAP S/4HANA environments and expert-level knowledge of SAP Yard Logistics functionality and configuration.
• Strong understanding of SAP Transportation Management integration points and working knowledge of SAP Sales and Distribution and Materials Management.
• Experience designing and configuring inbound, outbound, and internal warehouse processes, including inventory management, receiving, staging, picking, packing, shipping, gate processing, vehicle management, dock-door assignments, and yard tasks.
• Experience designing and optimizing end-to-end logistics operations, mapping physical logistics activities to SAP business processes, and supporting complex multisite warehouse and yard operations.
• Knowledge of inventory valuation, asset management, and financial integration points.
• Experience working in Agile development and delivery teams, translating requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria, conducting requirements-gathering sessions and fit-gap analyses, and leading system-integration and user-acceptance testing.
• Experience supporting deployment, cutover, post-production stabilization, strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder-influence, client-facing, organizational, time-management, problem-solving, adaptability, and professional-presence skills.

Nice to have

• SAP certification in Extended Warehouse Management, Yard Logistics, or Transportation Management.
• Experience implementing or upgrading SAP S/4HANA, supporting SAP data migration and master-data management, or working with a federal government agency.
• Knowledge of Department of Defense or government logistics operations and requirements; Department of War experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with warehouse automation technologies such as radio-frequency identification and barcode scanning, SAP Fiori logistics applications, and SAP integration technologies including APIs, IDocs, and middleware.
• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Business Warehouse, or comparable reporting tools.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process-improvement methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment, build customer and vendor relationships, comply with data standards and policies, and learn new technologies and methodologies.
