Senior Software QA Engineer (QA Automation)

Location: Chicago, IL; IL-Chicago, 70 W Madison St Fl 10. The role requires legal eligibility to work at the specified location and, where applicable, a valid work or study permit.

Salary: $120,000.00–$135,000.00 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and location. Eligibility for incentive compensation and a discretionary bonus may apply.

What you will do

• Lead investigation and translation of business requirements into test cases.
• Design and manage end-to-end testing activities across business projects.
• Create test plans, develop testing strategies, and provide project estimates.
• Assign and oversee test-case execution and ensure test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned with project timelines, budgets, and goals.
• Identify risks and obstacles, provide status updates, communicate with stakeholders, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Coach, advise, support, and mentor QA team members while identifying process improvements.

Requirements

• Experience in software development testing, test automation, and software process improvement.
• Ability to lead testing activities and provide quality products aligned with business and system requirements.
• Experience with troubleshooting, analytical thinking, decision making, leadership, mentorship, and project coordination.
• Legal eligibility to work at the specified US location; a valid work or study permit is required where applicable.
• Ability to communicate detailed information clearly, investigate complex problems, collaborate effectively, and demonstrate trust, teamwork, and accountability.

Nice to have

• Experience writing and executing SQL queries.
• Software development experience with Java, C#, Python, or VBScript.
