Journeyman Cybersecurity Analyst (Space Systems)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; work supporting projects at Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA. Travel as needed.

Salary: $100K–$140K per year.

Defense and aerospace organization supporting Space Force systems engineering and integration projects for the Space Systems Integration Office and Space Systems Command.

What you will do

• Assist with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Integration and CMI activities.
• Ensure DoD 8570 compliance requirements are satisfied for supported systems and users.
• Support the development, documentation, and validation of information assurance security controls.
• Prepare and present technical documentation, security assessments, and risk analysis to program leadership.
• Develop Plans of Action and Milestones for risks, issues, and gaps in cybersecurity infrastructure.
• Derive Design Reference Missions and prepare and deliver driving requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM-related field, preferably Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in cyber integration and defensive cybersecurity.
• Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and ability to adapt to new analytical tools.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence for task management, review workflows, task delegation, and collaborative documentation in a digital engineering environment.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Nice to have

• Master of Science degree in a STEM-related field, preferably Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
• Familiarity with Joint Publications, specifically JP 3-12, and the Joint Planning Process.
• Experience with ITIPS, eMASS, Xacta, and vulnerability management tools.
• Working knowledge of 8570 compliance requirements.
• Security+ certification, the baseline requirement under DoD 8570.
• CySA+ and/or CSSP certification.
• SETA experience with Cyber Enabled Space Operations in a military, contractor, or DoD civilian setting.
• Familiarity with the DoD acquisition lifecycle.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and modern software engineering principles.
