Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Hybrid at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC, USA; three days per week in the office and two days per week teleworking. Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active or current Top-Secret clearance.

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 per year.

What you will do

• Review testing and validation to confirm system functionality and compliance with cybersecurity standards.
• Develop technical documentation, including schematics, specifications, and system architecture diagrams.
• Support system engineering design, network architecture, platform-based network integration, information technology, and communications for aircraft carrier cybersecurity.
• Define security requirements, conduct risk assessments and systems analysis, and support cybersecurity testing, assessment, authorization, and Risk Management Framework activities.
• Assist PARMs with obtaining Authority to Operate for aircraft carrier systems and work with stakeholders on cybersecurity matters.
• Validate cybersecurity requirements across devices, subsystems, systems, enclaves, and platforms; recommend hardening solutions and support the integration and fielding of cybersecurity capabilities into ship design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Network Security, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science.
• At least 15 years of professional experience in computer design, software development, or computer network security.
• Experience supporting U.S. Navy programs or operations.
• Experience in cybersecurity or cyber defense engineering and management.
• U.S. citizenship and an active or current Top-Secret clearance.
• Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time and occasionally move around the office.
• Ability to communicate frequently with coworkers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations and exchanging accurate information.

Nice to have

• 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, cyber defense engineering, and management.
• CISSP, CISM, or CCIE certification.
• Compliance with applicable information assurance certification requirements under DFARS 252.239-7001 and the Navy Cyber Workforce Program, including Acquisition (801) Program Manager Basic or (803) Product Support Manager Basic.
