Junior Backend Engineer (Cloud)

Location: Budapest, Debrecen, Pécs, or Szeged, Hungary; hybrid work, with remote work possible only from within Hungary due to European taxation regulations.

What you will do

• Develop and enhance an OpenStack-based public cloud platform in a customer-oriented manner.
• Solve complex problems in the daily operation of a hyper-scale cloud backend.
• Work with cloud and container technologies, including hardware-oriented console operations.
• Develop and operate monitoring and quality assurance solutions.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes with common automation frameworks.
• Collaborate with specialists, platform partners, and other OpenStack ecosystem partners.

Requirements

• Completed studies in a technical, engineering, or scientific subject, or comparable professional training.
• At least 1 year of professional IT experience focused on modern cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of software-defined networks, routing, firewalls, and physical networks.
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation.
• Experience with Linux and network-related services.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Knowledge of agile development processes.
• Ability to assess technical solutions and develop creative approaches.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• OpenStack experience.
• Programming experience in open-source projects.
