Rust Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: Veszprém, Hungary; office-based role

What you will do

• Design and develop the next generation of the Proactive Data Loss Prevention engine in Rust.
• Migrate existing C++, C#, and Python components to Rust and maintain them until replacement.
• Build and orchestrate AI agents for code generation, testing, and refactoring, including validation loops for their output.
• Review design specifications and code, including AI-generated code, and write test cases.
• Maintain the product, implement new product versions, and document new and existing features.
• Collaborate with local, remote, and scrum team members to deliver sprint commitments and quarterly goals.

Requirements

• Strong command of Rust, or strong C++ knowledge with a clear drive to move to Rust.
• Hands-on experience with C# and Python.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents and LLM-based tooling, including directing agents and validating their output.
• At least 2 years of programming experience on Linux platforms.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Expertise in multithreaded programming and memory management.
• Experience with CI/CD and version control, preferably Git.

Nice to have

• Experience with interoperation between Rust and C++, C#, or Python through FFI, native hosting, or embedding.
• Experience with the Qt framework.
• Experience using REST APIs and integrating SDKs.
• Experience with GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
• Knowledge of data science.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
