IT Systems Lead

Location: Onsite in Atlanta, Georgia, USA; hands-on support is required for local equipment and employees.

What you will do

• Own corporate IT infrastructure, including employee laptops, workstations, shared devices, and related systems.
• Implement and manage cross-platform device management across Ubuntu Linux, macOS, iPadOS, and Windows.
• Establish endpoint security standards covering encryption, patching, endpoint protection, monitoring, and recovery.
• Manage Google Workspace, identity and access controls, MFA, permissions, and employee onboarding and offboarding.
• Build automated workflows for provisioning, software deployment, configuration management, and employee lifecycle management.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, People teams, and external IT and security providers while providing hands-on employee support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, systems administration, corporate IT, or a related technical role.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Ubuntu Linux endpoints, including configuration, troubleshooting, software management, and security.
• Experience managing mixed operating system environments, including Linux, macOS, and Windows.
• Experience implementing and administering endpoint or mobile device management solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Google Workspace administration, identity and access management, MFA, and employee onboarding and offboarding.
• Experience implementing endpoint security controls, including disk encryption, patch management, endpoint protection, and recovery processes.
• Proficiency with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or similar tools.
• Experience independently leading IT infrastructure projects from assessment and tool selection through deployment and ongoing operations.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across operating systems, endpoint hardware, networking, and business applications.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing needs, and take ownership in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a service-oriented approach to supporting technical and nontechnical teams.
• Ability to work onsite in Atlanta and provide hands-on support for local equipment and employees.

Nice to have

• Experience as an early IT hire or IT systems owner at a rapidly growing technology or engineering company.
• Experience supporting organizations with 100–500 employees and distributed international teams.
• Familiarity with Fleet, JumpCloud, or similar cross-platform device management solutions.
• Experience managing Linux disk encryption, including LUKS and recovery-key management.
• Experience with endpoint detection and response, security monitoring, and incident response coordination.
• Familiarity with CIS Controls, NIST cybersecurity guidance, or similar security frameworks.
• Experience working with managed service providers or external security vendors.
• Familiarity with GitOps, infrastructure automation, or configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Experience supporting engineering environments involving Docker, Kubernetes, SSH, and specialized Linux development tools.
• Experience establishing IT processes, documentation, and security standards from scratch.
