Forward-Deployed Finance Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid near the San Francisco or New York City offices, with in-person collaboration on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one additional flexible day each week. Candidates must be based near an office or be open to relocating.

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 base salary plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Embed with 3–5 strategic customers or prospects and map their end-to-end close processes, including bank coding, accounts payable, revenue, accruals, commissions, reconciliations, flux, and reporting.
• Identify high-leverage manual accounting work and automate it using the highest-quality and most durable approach.
• Build and deploy agents that perform accounting work with appropriate controls, review steps, and audit trails.
• Measure automation impact through days-to-close, hours saved, and error rates.
• Identify recurring customer patterns, write product briefs, and build selected features from prototype to production with engineering support.
• Create reusable accounting playbooks, templates, and agent patterns while representing controller and auditor requirements inside hirify.global.

Requirements

• 10+ years of accounting experience, including real month-end close ownership as a senior accountant, accounting manager, or controller, either in-house or at a Big Four firm.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, including the ability to defend accounting entries to an auditor.
• Knowledge of revenue accounting and revenue recognition.
• Ability to work directly with customers, take ownership of outcomes, and translate field insights into product improvements.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid schedule near the San Francisco or New York City offices, or to relocate.
