Product and R&D Director (IoT)

Location: Hybrid role based across the Stockholm and Uppsala offices, with approximately half of the working time spent at each location. Candidates must be eligible to work in Sweden.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the GroupTalk team of software, hardware, and product professionals.
• Drive product strategy and roadmaps based on customer needs and business objectives.
• Structure and prioritise product requirements according to customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.
• Plan and allocate engineering resources across new development, maintenance, security, and operational needs.
• Oversee product development and delivery, ensuring quality, reliability, and predictable execution.
• Improve engineering practices and collaborate with Sales, Operations, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, software development, or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience within R&D, engineering, or product development.
• Experience in product management, product roadmaps, requirements prioritisation, and resource planning.
• Solid understanding of software development, agile methodologies, and engineering practices.
• Ability to balance customer value, technical complexity, and available development capacity.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A relevant technical degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Experience as an R&D Manager, Engineering Manager, or similar.
• Knowledge of telecom, IoT, mobile applications, or cloud services.
• Experience with hardware and software integration or mission-critical communication solutions.
• Experience working in an international organisation.
