Senior Software Engineer (PHP)

Location: Krakow or remote within Poland; hybrid working model with 50% office presence.

Salary: 125–209 PLN/hour + VAT on B2B contract, or 17,500–29,200 PLN gross on permanent employment.

What you will do

• Autonomously plan and execute full-quarter projects, including milestones, dependencies, and scope management.
• Design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable backend systems for subscription lifecycles, billing, and monetization.
• Partner with business stakeholders to refine product direction and deliver customer-focused improvements.
• Own business-critical functionality and ensure correctness, reliability, and maintainability.
• Implement technical initiatives that improve team velocity and software quality, and mentor colleagues.
• Improve AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows and contribute to the cloud-native, service-oriented architecture.

Requirements

• Solid experience with modern PHP and Symfony.
• Advanced knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments.
• Exceptional understanding of cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience designing and working with event-driven, asynchronous, and integration-heavy systems.
• Advanced AI-assisted software development experience, including agentic coding tools and workflows.
• Experience mentoring team members through technical guidance, constructive feedback, and support in a collaborative learning environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, a strong sense of ownership, an entrepreneurial mindset, and business curiosity.
• Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a distributed team.

Nice to have

• Practical knowledge of SaaS subscription management, recurring billing, payment providers, or monetization platforms.
• Familiarity with layered architectures, CQRS patterns, and Domain-Driven Design principles.
• Full-stack engineering experience, including infrastructure and frontend development.
