Senior Backend Engineer (Platform & Architecture) - AppSec Solution (AI)

What you will do

• Own cross-company infrastructure and architecture projects from design through adoption across engineering teams.
• Build shared platform foundations and service standards, and write platform code across teams.
• Lead the evolution of the data layer for large-scale customer growth, including application-side cost optimization and Kubernetes scaling.
• Build platform foundations for running AI agents inside the product and lead AI-assisted development practices.
• Improve service reliability and observability.
• Align technical direction with software architecture, R&D team leads, DevOps, and Product; review designs and promote reuse.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience with architect-level depth in system design.
• Strong production experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Daily use of AI tools, early adoption of AI technologies, and an AI-first approach to improving developer experience and system performance.
• Deep production experience with databases at scale, including data modelling, performance, and evolving data layers.
• Hands-on platform engineering and infrastructure experience, including shared foundations adopted across teams.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience and strong understanding of DevOps practices.
• Experience leading cross-team technical projects and influencing without formal authority.
• Clear written communication for design documents and technical reviews.

Nice to have

• Practical understanding of LLMs and AI agents.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization.
• Background in cybersecurity or SaaS.
• Early adoption of AI technologies and passion for improving developer experience and system performance with AI.
