Mid-Level Python Developer (Backend)

What you will do

• Own backend features end-to-end, from schema design and API endpoints to production deployment.
• Develop clean, tested asynchronous Python services using REST API frameworks such as FastAPI and modern type-safety practices.
• Integrate backend services with PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy or SQLModel, caching layers, and asynchronous message queues.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to prototype, write boilerplate, expand test coverage, and debug applications.
• Write automated tests, optimize query performance, and ensure production reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional squads and client teams on technical specifications, code reviews, and iterative delivery.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Python 3.11+, including asyncio, typing, and REST API frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Practical experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and efficient SQL or ORM queries.
• Experience with automated testing using pytest, code quality practices, structured logging, and Git-based workflows.
• Experience shipping code to production, working with Docker containers, and understanding basic deployment processes.
• Professional English fluency and the ability to clearly explain technical decisions to teammates.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor, or openness to integrating them into development practices.
• Knowledge of integrating AI or LLM components into backend workflows, including LangChain or vector databases.
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis, or other message brokers and key-value stores.
• Familiarity with modern package managers, linters, and formatters such as uv, Poetry, and Ruff.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure and CI/CD pipelines.
• German language skills at B2+ level.
