Mid-Level Java Engineer (AI)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria and Egypt; Fully Remote

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based microservices and cloud-native applications.
• Build and enhance product features in a modern full-stack environment using Java and existing Node.js or React code.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable software.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
• Use AI-assisted development tools, automation, and CI/CD practices to improve productivity and software delivery.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• Strong Java development skills and experience building scalable, high-quality applications.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools, particularly Claude and Cursor, for coding and problem-solving.
• Working knowledge of Node.js or React, with the ability to navigate existing code and contribute to development tasks.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and cloud-native application design.
• Experience with software testing methodologies, test automation, and writing maintainable, reliable code.
• Ability to work with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and automated deployment workflows.
• Ability to contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and collaborative problem-solving.
