AI Security Architect

Location: Hybrid onsite, four days per week, within a commutable distance of Fort Meade, Maryland, or Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, United States.

Salary: $150,000+ annually.

What you will do

• Provide security architecture and engineering guidance for AI/ML systems, LLMs, generative AI, and supporting infrastructure.
• Apply the NIST AI Risk Management Framework to AI/ML design, integration, deployment, and operation.
• Identify AI-specific threats and vulnerabilities, including prompt injection, data poisoning, model evasion, and related attack vectors, and recommend mitigations.
• Architect and review secure data pipelines for collecting, processing, training, validating, and supplying data to AI/ML models.
• Protect mission information and Controlled Unclassified Information throughout model training, deployment, and inference.
• Collaborate with system owners, architects, developers, ISSMs, ISSOs, and Government leadership to integrate security from concept through production and communicate risks and architectural alternatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• Current DoD Top Secret clearance that must be maintained.
• DoD 8140 Work Role 652 – Security Architect certification: at least one of CCNP Enterprise, GMON, SecurityX / CASP+, CCSP, CISM, CISSO, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, Cloud+, CSSLP, FITSP-D, GCIA, GCSA, GDSA, GICSP, GSEC.
• Residence within a commutable distance of Fort Meade, MD, or Chambersburg, PA, to support a hybrid schedule with four onsite days weekly.
• Demonstrated experience securing AI/ML technologies, including LLMs and generative AI.
• Knowledge of RMF, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, and NIST AI RMF, as well as AI-specific vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
• Experience designing or evaluating secure data architectures and pipelines supporting AI/ML workloads.
• Ability to translate cybersecurity requirements into implementable engineering solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex cybersecurity concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a high-tempo DoD environment.
