Project Accountant I (Oracle)

Location: Remote in the United States; preference for candidates in the Eastern or Central Time Zone.

Salary: $65,000–$72,000 per year.

What you will do

• Provide full life-cycle project accounting support to Project Managers and Department Managers.
• Analyze project-level financial performance, identify financial or performance concerns, and provide commentary on project health.
• Coordinate project setup, review contracts, and ensure compliance with contract requirements and company approval policies.
• Maintain project information in Oracle, including project maintenance, budget updates, and funding modifications.
• Prepare monthly project reports, analyze unbilled and unearned revenue, and support revenue recognition activities.
• Monitor accounts receivable, support collection efforts, resolve invoicing issues, and assist with proposals, budgets, audits, financial reporting, and special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, project accounting, or a similar role.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across project teams.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA, CMA, or another relevant professional certification.
• Experience supporting internal or external audits.
• Experience with Oracle Project Accounting modules or a comparable ERP system.
• Experience supporting project-based organizations such as engineering, consulting, or professional services firms.
