Global Project Procurement Manager

Location: Vienna, Austria; full-time onsite role

Minimum salary: €67,473.14 gross/year for a full-time position; higher compensation may be considered based on expectations, expertise, and skills.

What you will do

• Provide functional procurement leadership as a sub-project lead in cross-functional, international teams delivering complex infrastructure projects in energy and hydrogen generation.
• Implement project-specific procurement strategies, including tendering, negotiations, supplier qualification, and awarding in line with budget and schedule requirements.
• Work with Engineering to identify cost-out opportunities and technical optimizations that improve commercial project performance.
• Coordinate procurement colleagues, Commodity Managers, Buyers, suppliers, and project partners to ensure consistent information flow and project alignment.
• Integrate topics such as industrial cybersecurity and act as an interface between suppliers and procurement teams.
• Use modern sourcing strategies, procurement levers, and market knowledge to influence project success.

Requirements

• Completed degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, business administration, or a similar field, or comparable vocational training with relevant additional qualifications.
• Several years of professional procurement experience, ideally in project business or in Bid Management or Project Management interface functions from a technical and/or commercial perspective.
• Passion for complex projects and enthusiasm for procurement.
• High self-motivation, confident presence, and structured, fact-based decision-making skills.
• Ability and willingness to work in cross-functional and intercultural teams.
• Very good knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Teams, and SharePoint, as well as SAP.
• Digital mindset, openness to AI-based procurement solutions, and basic knowledge of data analytics tools.
• Strong analytical, customer-orientation, solution-orientation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Business-fluent German and English skills.
