R&D Software Engineer (Quantum Computing)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain storage practices for R&D measurement data and metadata, linking devices with tests, components, and setup history.
• Turn measurement prototypes from experimental physicists and RF test engineers into robust, tested, and maintainable software.
• Maintain measurement code for VIO devices, components, and PCM test vehicles.
• Review and refactor modular Python code using automated testing, CI/CD, documentation, version control, and modern software practices.
• Collaborate with experimental physicists, RF test engineers, electrical engineers, Product software, and Operations data teams.
• Own R&D software functionality through validation, review, and integration.

Requirements

• MSc in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a similar field, plus 3+ years of industry experience.
• Experience building software that interacts with hardware, including manufacturing, test and measurement systems, lab or factory automation, or control systems.
• Strong Python skills and experience improving and maintaining code for data acquisition, automation, or scientific pipelines.
• Experience working with databases and cloud computing platforms such as GCP and AWS for technical or experimental data.
• Working knowledge of object-oriented design, Git, code review, and testing frameworks.
• Strong motivation to eliminate manual measurement and analysis overhead.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary scale-up and translate between experimental hardware teams, production software, data, and software teams.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience controlling test and measurement equipment.
• Experience in a quantum device foundry or test facility.
