Food Stylist

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States; on-site.

Salary: $75,000–$82,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Prepare, style, and maintain food and hard goods for photography, print, video, and digital productions.
• Interpret creative briefs and collaborate with photographers, producers, art directors, chefs, and clients to achieve the required visual outcomes.
• Select ingredients, props, garnishes, and presentation elements, while managing food preparation, sourcing, shopping, and inventory.
• Keep food camera-ready by managing freshness, texture, color, and presentation throughout shoots.
• Execute multiple food setups efficiently, adjust styling based on feedback and shot requirements, and meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and food-safe studio; support still and motion productions and help develop styling standards and documentation.

Requirements

• 2+ years of food styling experience in a commercial photography studio, advertising agency, production company, or related environment.
• Strong understanding of food preparation, presentation, and styling techniques.
• Portfolio demonstrating high-quality food styling across varied categories and brands.
• Knowledge of photographic principles and how food appears on camera.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Familiarity with prop styling and set preparation.
