Senior Auditor, BRC Food Safety

Location: Remote within the United States; travel up to 80%, including automobile and airplane travel, possible international flights, and occasional weekend travel.

Salary: USD 90,000–110,000 annually; actual base salary depends on skills, experience, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Perform third-party certification audits under hirify.global procedures and applicable FSSC22000, SQF, and BRC standards.
• Collect and analyze audit evidence to determine whether certification registration should be recommended or continued.
• Apply the hirify.global Certification System and relevant sector-specific schemes in audit activities.
• Collaborate with auditor teams and provide customers with audit coverage across hirify.global-accredited activities.
• Assist with training other Auditors and Senior Auditors and participate in witness audits conducted by hirify.global or accreditation bodies.
• Maintain audit credentials, follow internal standards and procedures, and complete other activities assigned by certification or technical accreditation management.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 2 years in QA/QC or production.
• Successful completion of Lead Auditor training of at least 3 days based on ISO 19011.
• HACCP training of at least 2 days, plus at least 2 hours each of food fraud and food defense training, or PCQI human food training.
• Scheme-specific training, such as BRCGS Food Safety Issue 9 training, including a minimum 2-day auditor course.
• Strong technical knowledge of applicable food safety standards and their practical application.
• Advanced English proficiency; Spanish or French is highly preferred.
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, proactive organization, multitasking ability, sound decision-making under stress, integrity, tact, and character.
