Senior Software Manager - CRDN (Medical Devices)

Location: Onsite in Mounds View, Minnesota, United States; working onsite 4 days per week with less than 10% travel. Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at hire and throughout employment.

Salary: $175,200–$262,800 USD annually, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Lead software engineering teams developing and supporting firmware, embedded software, GUI, Windows applications, and cloud services for medical devices and accessories.
• Own the full software product lifecycle and guide Scrum delivery in accordance with IEC 62304/82304.
• Prioritize work with product, business, quality, regulatory, and other cross-functional stakeholders; decompose features and manage the team backlog.
• Participate in risk assessment, requirements development, architecture and design documentation, unit testing, defect tracking, and software quality reporting.
• Ensure compliance with internal design controls and medical device regulations; prepare team members for certification and regulatory audits and represent the team during audits.
• Manage department processes, resource planning, recruitment, performance and development, mentoring, coaching, and adoption of development tools and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline with at least 7 years of technical work experience, or an advanced degree in one of these disciplines with at least 5 years of technical work experience and 5 years of managerial experience.
• Experience building medical device software.
• Experience building Windows-based applications and cloud services.
• Experience leading agile software development teams.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with FDA submissions, design history files, and technical documentation.
• Experience with software architecture design, design documents, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts.
• Agile SAFe training or experience.
• Excellent collaboration across engineering, quality, and regulatory teams.
• Pragmatic decision-making that balances compliance, security, and delivery velocity.
