Specialist, Software Engineer - Application Infrastructure & Embedded Systems

Location: Yorba Linda, California or Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States; onsite. The role follows a 4/10 schedule with four 10-hour shifts per week and requires up to 20% travel.

Salary: $97,000–$180,000 annually in California or $84,500–$174,500 annually in Florida.

What you will do

• Develop and integrate software for flight test instrumentation and shipboard systems.
• Perform software development across the full SDLC, from requirements through testing and deployment.
• Develop real-time embedded software and client/server database applications.
• Conduct trade studies, root cause analysis, and other software technical investigations.
• Work extended hours as needed and travel up to 20%.

Requirements

• Active US Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field plus at least 4 years of software development experience; alternatively, a graduate degree plus at least 2 years of related experience, or 8 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 3 years of experience with system and software requirements management.
• At least 3 years of experience in embedded or real-time software development and GUI design and development.
• At least 3 years of experience with one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
• Security clearances may only be granted to US citizens; applicants must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with DOORS, static code analysis tools, and reverse engineering tools.
• Experience applying DISA STIG requirements to software and systems under development.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology, DevOps, UML, and MBSE modeling.
• Knowledge of server virtualization and containerization technologies.
• Experience with Qt Enterprise, Linux/RHEL, Windows Desktop and Server, Visual Studio/.NET, and RTOS.
• Experience with Oracle RDBMS, SQL Server, and/or SQLite database tools.
• Knowledge of modern user interface technologies, Java/JRE/JDK/JavaFX/Tomcat, client/server architectures, database application development, and Windows/Linux server administration.
• Experience working within an integrated product team framework.
