Planning Manager - Data Centre

Location: Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom; hybrid working with onsite presence 2–3 days per week

What you will do

• Lead and oversee the delivery of data centre projects, supporting repeat business and client service excellence.
• Audit general contractor schedules for logic, compliance and complete project scope coverage.
• Establish schedule reporting procedures and provide regular reporting, analysis and project insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Interview main contractors, analyse tenders and provide recommendations on schedule submissions.
• Develop construction schedules, perform scenario analysis, implement change control and contribute to risk management and quantitative schedule risk assessments.
• Audit testing and commissioning activities, integrate commissioning information into integrated master schedules, and verify onsite progress against forecasts.

Requirements

• Proven data centre consultancy experience and experience as a lead project planner on data centre projects valued at £40 million or more.
• Extensive technical delivery experience in a comparable planning role within a consultancy, contractor or end-user client environment.
• Experience delivering mission-critical projects as a consultant, lead contractor or client-side project planner.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new projects, take ownership and drive delivery forward.
• Strong capability with Primavera P6 and Microsoft 365.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Degree-level qualification.
• A proactive, collaborative, flexible and diplomatic approach with strong interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Experience using reporting systems such as Power BI with aligned schedule data.
• Understanding and ability to use 4D modelling tools such as Synchro.
• Experience writing schedule management processes for portfolio-wide structure alignment and reporting.
• Professional qualification such as MCIOB, MRICS, MAPM, MIARB or equivalent, or desire to achieve one.
