Lead .NET Developer (Associate / Contract)

Location: Primarily remote with occasional travel to client sites in London and Watford, United Kingdom; hybrid arrangements considered.

Salary: £550–£600 per day.

What you will do

• Lead the technical direction and architecture of greenfield websites and customer-facing digital applications from inception through deployment.
• Drive hands-on engineering with modern .NET and C#, defining coding standards, design patterns, and engineering practices.
• Implement and integrate Optimizely CMS / DXP to support responsive web experiences.
• Guide and mentor delivery teams, conduct code reviews, and resolve technical blockers.
• Work with Product Owners, UX/UI designers, and client commercial stakeholders to translate business goals into technical solutions and sprint roadmaps.
• Ensure solutions meet high standards for performance, accessibility, security, and scalability.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Lead Developer or Technical Lead, guiding architecture and engineering teams on enterprise web builds.
• Deep hands-on expertise in modern .NET, including .NET Core / .NET 6+, and C#.
• Strong commercial experience implementing, configuring, and extending Optimizely, formerly Episerver, CMS / DXP solutions.
• Solid understanding of modern web architectures, RESTful API design, headless setups, and cloud hosting environments; Azure is preferred.
• Extensive experience with Agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum or Kanban, sprint delivery, and backlog management.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical strategy to technical and commercial audiences.
