Senior Engineer Infrastructure Platforms (Azure)

Location: Hybrid in Rotterdam, Netherlands; 40% at the office, 40% from home, and 20% flexible. With manager approval, working abroad is allowed within approved countries for up to 3 weeks per year, with a maximum of 2 consecutive weeks.

Gross annual salary: €75,000–€93,000, including FlexBudget and an 8% holiday allowance; a bonus or collective profit sharing may apply depending on the role.

What you will do

• Design, build, and continuously improve the Azure cloud platform used across the organisation.
• Create standards, reusable patterns, automation, and platform capabilities for secure, scalable, consistent, and efficient Azure usage.
• Translate business and technical requirements into cloud architectures, technical designs, implementation plans, and actionable work.
• Contribute hands-on to implementation and platform improvement while day-to-day operational execution is handled through established service and support arrangements.
• Work with internal customers, architects, engineers, security specialists, product teams, and external technology partners.
• Provide technical guidance and support to teams implementing platform capabilities.

Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience.
• Strong hands-on Azure experience, preferably in an enterprise environment working on cloud foundations or platform capabilities.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Bicep, Terraform, and/or ARM templates.
• Experience with CI/CD and automation, with Azure DevOps as a primary tool.
• Good scripting and development skills using PowerShell, Shell scripting, and Python.
• Strong Azure networking knowledge, including VNets, subnets, hub-and-spoke architectures, routing, connectivity, DNS, firewalls, and related networking components.
• Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, and standardised cloud solutions.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into cloud architecture, technical designs, implementation plans, and actionable work.
• Experience working with internal customers, architects, security teams, and external technology partners.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to lead or contribute effectively to technical discussions and project work.
• A proactive mindset toward automation, standardisation, governance, security, reliability, and cost optimisation.

Nice to have

• AWS and/or OCI experience or certification.
• Experience with cloud architecture or platform engineering in a large enterprise environment.
• Experience defining cloud standards, reference architectures, landing zones, or reusable platform patterns.
