Health & Safety Manager (Construction)

Location: Northern Region, United Kingdom; covering construction sites across the Northern region and the Leeds office.

What you will do

• Provide expert health, safety and wellbeing advice to sector and regional leadership, operational teams and clients.
• Support divisional and regional HS&W strategies, compliance with company, client and legislative requirements, and continuous improvement across construction projects.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, audits and assurance activities, identify improvement opportunities, and support corrective actions.
• Monitor and analyse HS&W performance data, investigate incidents, identify root causes, communicate lessons learned, and implement preventive actions.
• Monitor supply chain HS&W performance and collaborate with clients, supply chain partners and industry stakeholders.
• Coach and mentor junior HS&W team members, support emergency preparedness, and promote wellbeing, inclusion and psychological safety.

Requirements

• GradIOSH, or TechIOSH demonstrably working towards GradIOSH status.
• NEBOSH NVQ Diploma or an equivalent Level 6 qualification.
• Experience in health and safety within the construction industry.
• Experience providing technical health and safety support to complex construction or civil engineering projects.
• Strong people leadership skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Drive to deliver tangible health and safety improvements.
• Excellent influencing and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of root cause analysis, with an appreciation of behavioural science and human factors.
• Commitment to personal learning and development, and engagement with industry contacts to broaden knowledge and experience.
