Military Legal Advisor (AI)

What you will do

• Develop detailed scenarios covering lawful policy review, military support activities, and applicable legal constraints.
• Assess legal boundaries within evaluation taxonomies and apply the Law of Armed Conflict and international law.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for legal reasoning, clarity, appropriate limitations, and treatment of legal uncertainty.
• Identify unnecessary refusals to address legitimate legal, policy, or analytical questions.
• Provide well-supported written and verbal feedback based on authoritative legal analysis.
• Collaborate with subject-matter experts on complex or disputed cases and consistent evaluation standards.

Requirements

• Relevant legal and military expertise, with the ability to assess complex legal scenarios and applicable constraints.
• Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

• Experience as a Judge Advocate General officer or substantial expertise in International Humanitarian Law and the Law of Armed Conflict.
• Strong understanding of Rules of Engagement and the legal boundaries governing military and surveillance operations.
• Experience advising on operational legal matters in military or governmental environments.
• Ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and accurately.
• Expertise in policy review, legal case differentiation, and evaluating uncertainty in legal interpretation.
• Teaching, consulting, or advisory experience in military law or international law.
• Familiarity with AI governance, AI ethics, or legal frameworks related to artificial intelligence.
