Trading Operations Analyst (Fintech)

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; hybrid workplace.

What you will do

• Own the trading operations case queue by triaging, prioritising, resolving, and following up on operational requests and incidents.
• Configure and administer MT4/MT5 trading settings, risk parameters, and platform controls under approved change procedures.
• Support and troubleshoot Copy Trading, MAM, and Dynamic Margin plugins.
• Investigate platform and plugin issues using logs and SQL, resolving routine cases and escalating complex issues with evidence and proposed fixes.
• Build recurring reports and monitoring checks, automate repetitive tasks with SQL and scripting, and identify trading-related operational risks.
• Maintain procedures and documentation, explain findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and improve controls and workflows.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in trading operations, technical operations, risk, data analysis, or a related role, ideally in financial services.
• Working SQL skills with the ability to independently query and analyse trading and platform data.
• Coding experience, such as Python, for task automation or data analysis.
• Solid understanding of financial markets and trading concepts, plus interest in learning brokerage operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills, attention to detail, and sound judgement.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in a brokerage, CFD, Forex, or leveraged trading environment.
• Hands-on MT4/MT5 experience in administration, configuration, or risk controls, including Copy Trading, MAM, or Dynamic Margin plugins.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field; relevant experience is also considered.
• Business-level Mandarin in written and spoken form.
