Buyer I - Integrated Supply (Procurement)

Location: On-site in Trenton, New Jersey; York, Pennsylvania; Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; or Uniondale, New York.

Target pay range: $30.00–$32.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform procurement activities for stock, non-stock, and spot-buy products and materials in line with customer demand and purchasing strategies.
• Review inventory forecasts and daily replenishment recommendations in ERP and inventory management applications; expedite or de-expedite orders as needed.
• Create purchase requisitions and vendor purchase orders, follow up on delivery status, and communicate order updates to customers.
• Research vendors and items, monitor product quality and delivery timeliness, and coordinate replacements, damaged-goods returns, excess-inventory liquidation, and other vendor returns.
• Maintain supplier, vendor, and customer relationships; resolve product-quality, delivery, and accounts-payable issues.
• Identify and document customer cost savings, produce KPI data, follow standard operating procedures, and adhere to LEAN practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills and aptitude to learn ERP and inventory management applications.
• Mathematical aptitude for basic calculations.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and execution skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work for extended periods at a computer and perform repetitive keyboarding activities.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with possible exposure to dirt, smoke, heat, and cold; comply with customer facility safety protocols, including required hand, foot, eye, or other protection.
• Ability to work overtime with little advance notice and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• One or more years of procurement experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business or finance.
• CPM certification.
