Project Manager I (Corporate Real Estate)

Location: Hybrid, with approximately 50% of the time onsite at the Chicago, Illinois office and the remainder remotely; approximately 10% travel required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.

Base pay range: $81,795.00–$106,602.00 annually, plus potential bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Manage airport and commercial property facility and infrastructure construction projects through the envision, design, build and activate lifecycle.
• Manage a portfolio valued at $1–2 million, including 10 or more individual projects typically below $500,000, and support larger projects under a Senior Project Manager or Director.
• Coordinate stakeholders to define project scope, balance cost with operational needs, and develop project strategies and alternatives.
• Plan and execute construction projects, including cost estimates, schedules, budgets, risks, mitigation plans, and compliance metrics.
• Maintain project management governance, artifacts, workflows, databases, standards, and reporting for weekly, monthly, and quarterly portfolio updates.
• Use SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Oracle, and other CRE project tools while supporting continuous improvement and innovative facility solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, including 1–5 years in planning, design, or construction.
• Working knowledge of design and construction management processes and terminology.
• Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
• Ability to navigate airport environments by walking extended distances, standing for prolonged periods, using stairs and escalators/elevators, and working in both temperature-controlled terminals and outdoor areas.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
• Reliable and punctual attendance.
• Successful completion of the interview process.

Nice to have

• Understanding of generative AI capabilities and limitations, with the ability to use AI for research, analysis, content creation, and problem solving while validating outputs and following responsible AI, privacy, and security policies.
• Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Planning, Design, Construction Management, or an MBA.
• PMP, LEED, Black Belt, PE, RA, or CM certification.
• 2–5 years of experience in planning, engineering or architectural design, or construction.
• 2–5 years of experience in an aviation operational environment.
• Experience managing projects of varying complexity.
• Solid knowledge of design and construction management processes and terminology.
• Understanding of project management best practices.
