Program Manager (IT)

Location: Remote, Brentwood, Tennessee, United States; flexibility may be required to coordinate with stakeholders, teams, and partners in North American and offshore time zones.

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of multi-project IT programs from initiation and business case through benefits realization and closure.
• Develop integrated program plans and roadmaps covering workstreams, milestones, dependencies, resources, schedules, and budgets.
• Lead delivery using waterfall or hybrid approaches, coordinating Project Managers, architects, engineers, contractors, and client stakeholders.
• Establish program governance through steering committees, decision forums, change control, escalation paths, KPIs, and program documentation.
• Manage program-level risks, issues, budgets, margins, forecasts, scope, dependencies, and capacity across workstreams.
• Serve as the primary client contact, present strategy and performance to executive stakeholders, and partner with Sales, Pre-sales, the PMO, and Service Delivery Leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in information technology, project management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of experience directing medium- to large-scale IT projects, including at least 5 years managing multi-project programs or leading Project Managers.
• Hands-on experience in both program management and project management, including waterfall and hybrid project delivery.
• Experience managing multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience across enterprise IT initiatives involving infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud services, application development, platform engineering, and IT operations.
• Executive presence and presentation skills, including the ability to build credibility with C-level executives, handle challenging questions, and influence decisions.
• Experience partnering with Sales and Pre-sales to scope future engagements, define program-level reporting, and assess impacts on workstreams and commitments.
• Experience working with external clients and executive-level stakeholders.
• Strong financial acumen covering budgets, margins, revenues, and cost tracking across multiple projects.
• Expertise in program planning, governance, budget management, timeline coordination, scope control, dependency and risk management, and leadership of cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing contractor relationships and contractual compliance.
• Expertise with Smartsheet, NetSuite, and Microsoft 365 for program tracking and management.

Nice to have

• Experience in professional IT services, such as a Value-Added Reseller, Original Equipment Manufacturer, Managed Service Provider, or similar technology solution delivery environment.
• PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or CSM certification.
