What you will do

• Design and implement scalable, secure cloud-based data architectures and integrate applications with cloud data services.
• Optimize cloud data storage, retrieval, processing, performance, and high-compute workloads.
• Develop data models and schemas, maintain data integrity, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Maintain legacy applications and systems while researching and implementing cloud migration or recreation strategies.
• Integrate scientific equipment and hardware into the IT infrastructure and lead adoption of cloud technologies and best practices.
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, data scientists, researchers, and senior management; conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance and mentorship, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in application development, data architecture, and cloud computing, or a high school diploma and at least 8 years of experience.
• Proven experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of integrating scientific equipment and handling high-compute data.
• Strong understanding of data integration, ETL processes, data warehousing, data modeling, data governance, and data security.
• Working knowledge of AI and machine learning applications in a clinical research setting.
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases and multiple programming languages such as Java, C#, and Python.
• Proficiency in front-end development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and back-end development with PHP and MySQL.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving, independent working, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including regular collaboration with senior staff scientists and researchers.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in computer science or a related field.
• Experience in scientific research, clinical research, or healthcare environments.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
• Cloud technology certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Experience with big data technologies.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards in clinical research.
