Senior Staff Network Engineer (Enterprise Networking)

Location: Georgetown, Texas, United States; onsite work required, including racking, cabling, optics, and MDF/IDF troubleshooting.

Base salary: $105,000–$154,000 per year, with potential annual bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Support and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, wireless, voice, video, and data infrastructure across office, manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, and multi-site environments.
• Analyze packet captures with Wireshark, tcpdump, and SPAN, correlating findings with routing tables, firewall sessions, and logs to identify root causes.
• Prepare production changes with implementation, validation, and rollback plans, obtain approval, and execute the changes.
• Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex incidents and proactively identify and resolve recurring problems.
• Perform onsite racking, cabling, optics, console access, MDF/IDF troubleshooting, and out-of-band management.
• Maintain network diagrams, port records, and incident documentation while partnering with network architects on architecture and design implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience, plus 8+ years of hands-on enterprise networking experience.
• Advanced experience troubleshooting LAN and WAN issues in multi-site environments, with strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VLANs, and packet forwarding.
• Production packet-level troubleshooting experience using Wireshark or similar tools.
• Experience supporting voice and data on shared infrastructure, including practical knowledge of VoIP, QoS, voice VLANs, and PoE.
• Hands-on experience with OSPF, BGP, STP, LACP, and HSRP/VRRP on Cisco, Arista, Aruba, or comparable platforms.
• Working experience with next-generation firewalls such as Palo Alto or comparable products, security policies, and IPsec VPNs.
• Experience with copper and fiber cabling, optics, console access, and out-of-band management.
• Experience executing production changes through a formal change and approval process.
• Track record of identifying problems and driving fixes forward with minimal direction.
