Integration Engineer (AI MaaS)

What you will do

• Build and maintain adapters connecting the AI MaaS gateway to third-party inference providers.
• Translate provider request and response formats, streaming protocols, authentication schemes, capabilities, and error taxonomies into a unified internal interface.
• Design cost guardrails, automated spend controls, retry handling, and circuit breakers for runaway usage, latency degradation, and upstream failures.
• Monitor provider changelogs and live response shapes, and create contract tests, escalation paths, and rollback procedures for breaking changes.
• Reconcile provider invoices with internal usage and metering records, resolving discrepancies with finance.
• Evaluate and onboard new inference providers through proof-of-concept integrations and reliability testing.

Requirements

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience building and operating production API integrations.
• Experience integrating multiple third-party providers behind a single internal interface.
• Hands-on experience with Go or a comparable statically typed backend language, including HTTP or gRPC clients, retry and backoff logic, and circuit breakers.
• Working knowledge of LLM and inference APIs, streaming responses, function calling, and token-based rate limiting.
• Experience with cost and usage monitoring or alerting for metered, usage-billed systems, ideally including vendor invoice reconciliation.
• Experience with contract or integration testing, third-party API debugging, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or distributed tracing.
