Commodity Buyer

Location: Orlando, Florida, United States; international travel required for 10% of the time, domestically and internationally. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

What you will do

• Manage purchasing responsibilities for a defined group of commodities and execute complex buying strategies to deliver equipment and materials on time and under budget.
• Review requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases.
• Negotiate prices, terms and conditions, and quality requirements with suppliers.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, supplier quality, logistics, procurement teams, and suppliers to support tendering and project execution.
• Resolve delivery, quality, invoicing, and pricing issues and expedite purchases when needed.
• Evaluate market conditions, mitigate commodity risks, develop new suppliers, and implement supplier-led cost reductions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and at least 8 years of successful purchasing experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to apply specialized knowledge to complete complex assignments and identify and resolve complex problems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment using an organized and disciplined approach.
• Comfort working in an international environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
