Strategic Buyer (Electronics)

What you will do

• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and select suppliers; develop RFQs, analyze bids, and make award recommendations based on total cost of ownership and strategic fit.
• Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies focused on cost optimization, risk reduction, supplier innovation, and organizational priorities.
• Build strategic supplier relationships and lead negotiations covering contracts, pricing, terms, and multi-year agreements.
• Collaborate with production, logistics, operations, engineering, quality, and finance on demand forecasts, procurement strategy, and capex spending for projects.
• Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, and risk; lead audits, performance reviews, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage contract lifecycles, identify supply-base risks, track market and technology developments, and present sourcing recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 4 to 6 years of related sourcing or purchasing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of electronic components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Proven purchasing experience, preferably within the electronics industry.

Nice to have

• CPIM or CSCP certification.
