SSO/Special Security Officer – Corporate Physical Security (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in El Segundo, California initially, with a required work location change to Long Beach, California within a year; occasional travel between El Segundo, Long Beach, and Folsom, California locations, up to 10%.

Base salary: $120,000–$170,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for SCI security matters and administer SCIF policies under ICD 703, ICD 705, and applicable program security guides.
• Manage SCIF accreditation and re-accreditation, including construction security plans, fixed facility checklists, and coordination activities.
• Process SCI indoctrinations, debriefings, visit certifications and requests, access approvals, clearance actions, reinvestigations, continuous vetting, and foreign travel and contact reporting.
• Control the handling, transmission, storage, and destruction of SCI material and support SCI-level information-system accreditation with the ISSM/ISSO.
• Conduct inspections, self-inspections, audits, security investigations, and incident reporting while driving corrective actions to closure.
• Deliver briefings and training, advise program leadership, liaise with DCSA, Cognizant Security Authorities, and government customers, support classified contracts and proposals, and provide corporate access-control and visitor-management support.

Requirements

• Active U.S. Government TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, business, or a related field with 5 years of SCI security administration experience; or a related master’s degree with 3 years of experience; or 9 years of SCI security administration experience in lieu of a degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience managing SCIFs, including accreditation actions.
• Working knowledge of ICD 703, ICD 705, and NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117).
• Experience supporting classified programs in the aerospace or defense industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief leadership and government customers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain access to SCI facilities.
• Ability to sometimes bend, stoop, or stand on ladders for physical security inspections and operations.
• Applicants must be a U.S. Person under applicable U.S. Government export regulations and eligible to obtain required export authorizations.
