Software Engineer, Elixir - Telephony

Location: Remote; Brazil, Argentina, or Texas

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across telephony engineering teams.
• Develop and deploy applications for the hirify.global Telephony platform, from system design and prototyping through application development and data integration.
• Collaborate with engineers across the company to build new large-scale telephony features.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
• Identify, optimize, and resolve latency, scalability, and performance issues in core telephony infrastructure.
• Use AI-assisted engineering workflows to accelerate development, troubleshoot complex issues, and support deployments and operational workflows.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional software development experience with Elixir.
• Deep knowledge of microservice architecture patterns and anti-patterns.
• Understanding of the challenges inherent in concurrent and distributed programming.
• Thoughtful decision-making, including knowing when to move quickly and when to optimize for the long term.
• Interest in working in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
• Keeping up to date with current technologies and patterns and sharing learned knowledge.

Nice to have

• Experience with SIP and VoIP-related protocols and technologies, including RTP, WebRTC, ICE, STUN, and TURN.
• Experience with Consul, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Ansible, Grafana, Graylog, or Prometheus.
