Forward Deployed Engineering Manager (Data & AI)

What you will do

• Lead a delivery team of 8+ Individual Contributors building and productionizing customer data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform.
• Oversee delivery across direct accounts and drive Professional Services outcomes, including bookings, revenue, margin, CSAT, and cloud consumption.
• Align technical scope and execution with Engagement Managers, client stakeholders, and executive customer contacts.
• Hire, coach, and develop technical talent through structured interviews, practical delivery scenarios, regular feedback, and protected weekly learning time.
• Remove delivery blockers, run standups, project reviews, and retrospectives, and maintain accountability for timelines and quality.
• Review delivery plans and architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP while coaching secure, scalable, governed, and production-ready deployment patterns.

Requirements

• 8+ years of total technical experience, including 2+ years managing, leading, or mentoring high-caliber technical teams.
• Experience in data engineering, data platforms, software engineering, or AI/ML.
• Strong technical depth in distributed computing, including Apache Spark, Python or Scala, modern cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, CI/CD, and MLOps or GenAI frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage technical project delivery, timelines, scoping, and conflict resolution.
• Experience managing executive customer relationships from technical Individual Contributors through Director level.
• Databricks Certification required, or a path to completion.
