Engineering Lead (AI)

What you will do

• Lead multiple AI-native pods while remaining hands-on with coding, code review, and pair programming.
• Translate customer and business needs into products from initial idea through launch, managing stakeholders across product, commercial, risk, and senior leadership.
• Own technical delivery and measure success through business impact.
• Design, build, and operate simple, resilient, scalable event-driven systems with clear domain boundaries.
• Shape platform-wide architecture and break complex problems into incremental, shippable steps.
• Coach and mentor engineers while using GenAI to improve delivery and decision-making across the organisation.

Requirements

• Experience leading engineering pods and remaining hands-on with coding, reviewing, and pairing.
• Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels, set expectations, and negotiate trade-offs.
• Experience turning customer and business needs into products and owning delivery through launch.
• Experience designing and operating resilient, scalable event-driven systems.
• Ability to define domain boundaries, shape platform architecture, and deliver incrementally.
• Experience coaching and mentoring engineers by example.
• Ability to work with cloud-native technologies, continuous deployment, DevOps practices, and security by design.
• Experience with test-first, outside-in testing and behaviour-focused scenarios.
