Training Consultant (Electric Power)

Location: Peoria, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Required travel up to 15% domestically and internationally. Relocation assistance is not offered.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 per year.

What you will do

• Deliver instructor-led, classroom, hands-on, and virtual technical training for hirify.global dealers and internal audiences across electric power products and systems.
• Teach generator control systems, including ECS controllers, configuration, HMI interfaces, diagnostics, electronic data communications networks, and integrated control architectures.
• Provide technical support on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, industrial communication protocols, installation, commissioning, maintenance, safety, and root cause analysis.
• Assess dealer technicians' technical knowledge and hands-on skills, provide structured feedback, and improve training programs using learner and field insights.
• Partner with engineering, product groups, and global dealers on training needs, new product introductions, curriculum development, and customized technical content.
• Support service training projects through proposals, budgets, supplier negotiations, project leadership, and planning and coordination of assigned requirements.

Requirements

• Knowledge of customer focus, service excellence, consulting, decision-making and critical thinking, effective communication, problem solving, relationship management, and training operations.
• Minimum of 5+ years of service experience with power generation.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of engines, generators, and basic electrical systems.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as CAN and Modbus.
• Background in structured troubleshooting.
• Ability to support dealer networks or global training programs.
• Passion for people development and commitment to responsibility, safety, and high standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global equipment, generators, generator controls, switchgear, and energy storage devices.
• Experience in technical training, field service, or product support within heavy equipment or industrial systems.
• Experience with hirify.global Electric Power products, including generator sets, controls, and switchgear.
• Instructor certification such as CIAP.
