Training/Documentation Manager (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid, with on-site meetings in Columbia, Maryland, United States; travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Salary: $115,764–$160,000 per year.

What you will do

• Build and oversee markdown-based training content, web-based modules, instructional vignettes, instructor-led materials, technical user documentation, and contractual deliverables.
• Conduct advanced training in cyber hunt, log analysis, intrusion investigation, and tool or platform usage through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on labs.
• Establish relationships with government customers, understand their technology needs, address operational issues, and support capability rollout.
• Create videos, articles, and one-pagers while following relevant style guides, and work with marketing on business plans, roadmaps, and action plans.
• Support the full business-development lifecycle, including proposals, staffing, opportunity identification, bid/no-bid analysis, and RFI or market responses.
• Lead training and technical writing teams, develop solution-partner networks, maintain pipeline opportunities, and identify new markets.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance are required; clearance is not required on day one.
• At least 10 years of experience with government training, documentation, and agile development efforts plus a B.A. in Business, a technical field, or a related field; alternatively, 8 years of relevant experience with a related master's degree, or a high school diploma or equivalent and 14 years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience with defense or government agencies, such as Joint Cyber Commands, Defense Agencies, or military service cyber components.
• Experience designing and developing technical training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, exams, and short- and long-format instructional media.
• Experience directly managing training and technical writing teams of at least 12 employees.
• Understanding of budget practices and acquisition organizations, or relationships with people who have this knowledge.
• Strong skills with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint; strong interpersonal, organizational, attention-to-detail, interviewing, active-listening, and empathy skills.
• Ability to present in public to senior management and senior government officials, understand customer buying teams, sell to individual influencers, work independently and collaboratively, and adapt to schedule changes.
• Participation in the full business-development lifecycle, including proposal support, staffing, opportunity identification, bid/no-bid analysis, and RFI or market responses.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid arrangement with on-site meetings in Columbia, Maryland.

Nice to have

• Experience with software engineering, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity.
• Technical background sufficient to determine system requirements and collaborate with engineering and management on accurate design and estimating.
• Experience with Big Data Platform and/or Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture Common Runtime Stack for Data.
• Experience optimizing learning content for distance learning and creating web-based training in Markdown.
• Experience with Camtasia and/or Google Vids.
