Consultant, Data Mesh Enablement & EDGE Onboarding (Data Mesh)

Location: Toronto, ON; Toronto-81 Bay, 21st Floor. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and, where applicable, hold a valid work or study permit.

What you will do

• Coordinate data onboarding from intake and exploratory discussions through data access, ingestion, product registration, and enablement.
• Review data product registrations, ownership records, lineage, metadata, business purpose, consumers, source information, and supporting documentation.
• Validate metadata for data elements, tables, views, schemas, and registered data products while supporting catalogue and dashboard operations.
• Guide teams through access and entitlement requirements, standard access patterns, group templates, and request-routing processes.
• Create and maintain onboarding guides, FAQs, job aids, training materials, process maps, and other self-service resources.
• Maintain reporting on onboarding activity, registration, ownership, adoption, and outstanding actions; improve workflows using Jira, SharePoint, Power Automate, Excel, SQL, Python, and APIs.

Requirements

• Experience supporting data onboarding, governance, operations, or enablement activities in a large and complex environment.
• Experience coordinating work across business and technology teams.
• Ability to work with metadata, ownership records, lineage, and operational reporting to identify gaps, resolve discrepancies, and improve decision-making.
• Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate it clearly to different audiences.
• Ability to collaborate with governance, architecture, engineering, security, and delivery teams.
• Strong attention to detail when reviewing registrations, validating information, maintaining records, and supporting controlled operational processes.
• Ability to manage multiple activities while maintaining accuracy.
• Legal eligibility to work at the specified location and, where applicable, a valid work or study permit.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jira, SharePoint, Power Automate, Excel, SQL, Python, or related workflow automation, reporting, and self-service tools.
