What you will do

• Produce, report, shoot, write, voice, edit, and feed news content for broadcast, web, social media, and other platforms.
• Research events and background information, conduct interviews, verify facts, and develop complete and accurate news stories.
• Pitch locally relevant story ideas, evaluate leads and tips, and coordinate priorities with producers and news managers.
• Determine story emphasis, length, format, and organization while revising content to meet editorial approval and time requirements.
• Write and edit news reports, interact with viewers and users on social media, and present reports across platforms.
• Maintain journalistic integrity and production quality while completing special projects and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to ad lib when required.
• At least two years of news reporting experience, depending on market size.
• Superior on-air presence.
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
