Producer, NBC & Telemundo San Diego (News)

Location: Full-time on-site at the hirify.global-designated worksite in San Diego, California, United States; ability to work any 24x7 shift required.

Salary: USD 65,000–85,000 yearly.

hirify.global is a media and entertainment company producing and distributing film, television, streaming, news, sports, and theme park content through brands including NBC, Telemundo, NBC News, NBC Sports, NBC Local Stations, Bravo, and Peacock.

What you will do

• Produce the overall content and production of morning, afternoon, or evening newscasts for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Write news scripts, teases, headlines, intros, leads, text articles, captions, and video graphics copy; edit video for broadcast, web, social media, OTT, and FAST platforms.
• Execute live shots, communicate with anchors during live newscasts, and manage video livestreams when necessary.
• Respond to breaking news accurately and urgently while updating stories as they evolve.
• Collaborate with reporters on daily stories, contribute story ideas, and participate in coverage decisions and editorial meetings.
• Create and publish videos, photos, podcasts, and articles; curate YouTube channels and deliver content across all platforms.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a broadcast line producer.
• At least 2 years of prior news editing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or a related field.
• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere and/or other editing programs.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and stories simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with online publishing tools or content management systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AP style writing and guidelines.
• Must be at least 18 years old, have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States, hold a valid driver’s license, and be willing to work full-time at the San Diego station on any 24x7 shift.
• A sample of original work must be submitted for consideration.

Nice to have

• Leadership abilities and strong communication skills.
• Experience editing video for web, social media platforms, and television.
• Knowledge of libel and slander laws and applicable FCC rules and regulations.
• Bilingual English/Spanish written and verbal communication.
• Personal initiative, ability to work with minimal supervision, flexibility, teamwork, strong organization, integrity, professionalism, and the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
