Senior Network Engineer (F5/AWS)

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; full-time role with an onsite location. A remote work model may apply depending on the position.

Salary: $82,000–$108,000 annual base pay, with potential variable pay and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise network infrastructure projects from requirements gathering and technical design through implementation, validation, migration cutover, rollback readiness, and operational handoff.
• Design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot F5 BIG-IP LTM environments, including virtual servers, pools, health monitors, iRules, persistence, NAT, SSL offloading, high availability, upgrades, and migrations.
• Design and operate Layer 2/Layer 3 enterprise networks, routing protocols, Cisco routers and switches, VLANs, trunking, STP, routing policies, and resilient connectivity.
• Administer Palo Alto Networks and Cisco ASA/Firepower firewalls, including policies, NAT, VPNs, high availability, migrations, and Palo Alto Panorama where applicable.
• Support hybrid connectivity across on-premises data centers, WAN, internet, AWS, OCI, and Azure, including VPCs, VNets, VCNs, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, FastConnect, and Transit Gateway.
• Provide advanced operational support, incident response, maintenance, monitoring, documentation, root cause analysis, and rotating on-call coverage including scheduled after-hours support.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience, including simultaneous operational support and infrastructure project delivery.
• Expert-level hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP LTM, including virtual servers, pools, health monitors, iRules, persistence, SSL offloading, NAT, high availability, upgrades, migrations, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Strong routing and switching expertise with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, route redistribution, VLANs, STP, and Layer 2/Layer 3 troubleshooting.
• Hands-on administration and troubleshooting of Cisco routing and switching infrastructure.
• Strong enterprise firewall experience with Palo Alto Networks and/or Cisco ASA/Firepower, including policies, NAT, VPNs, high availability, and firewall migrations.
• Practical cloud networking experience with AWS, OCI, and/or Microsoft Azure, including end-to-end hybrid connectivity troubleshooting.
• Ability to create technical designs, implementation runbooks, migration cutover plans, rollback procedures, and operational documentation.
• Experience coordinating complex infrastructure projects across technical teams and external service providers, with strong communication, incident response, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Willingness and availability to participate in rotating on-call coverage, after-hours maintenance, and critical incident response.

Nice to have

• Experience with F5 Distributed Cloud and migrations from F5 BIG-IP to F5 Distributed Cloud.
• Experience with large-scale data center migrations, consolidations, and migrations of applications or network services to cloud platforms.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus, Palo Alto Panorama, network automation using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and APIs.
• Experience with NetBrain, SolarWinds, network discovery, infrastructure inventory, and application dependency mapping tools.
• Experience supporting large enterprise environments with multiple data centers, cloud platforms, and geographically distributed locations.
