Actuarial Associate (Insurance)

What you will do

• Manage the technical aspects of client assignments, including running analytics tools and building models within agreed budgets and timeframes.
• Process and handle data, produce client reports, and document compliance with risk management procedures.
• Manage day-to-day client interactions, attend client meetings, and deliver presentations.
• Contribute to marketing activities, articles, and knowledge sharing with colleagues and clients.
• Maintain technical knowledge through papers, seminars, and conferences while supporting other team members.
• Work toward timely qualification as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree at or predicted to be 2:1 or above in a numerical subject.
• Good knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Good understanding of and interest in the UK insurance and reinsurance market.
• Strong analytical skills and a highly technical approach.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Effective time management, research, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.
• Driven, collaborative, motivated, proactive, and flexible with workloads and priorities.
• Commitment to an actuarial career and qualification as an actuary.

Nice to have

• Good knowledge of VBA, Python, R, SQL, or similar.
• Experience working with large datasets using statistical software.
• Good understanding of and interest in financial markets.
• Experience with mathematical or financial modelling.
