Actuary (Life Insurance)

What you will do

• Support the Actuarial Liability Valuation team in valuing M&G Life and Pensions business, including annuities, with-profits, and unit-linked products.
• Develop understanding of the non-profit annuity business, product and liability features, and sensitivities to key risk drivers.
• Develop understanding of yield calculations under different metrics.
• Produce, control, and explain changes in matching adjustment assumptions and liabilities to key stakeholders.
• Support the Manager of the annuities liability valuation team with key deliverables and strategic solutions for new propositions.
• Work with Finance and Risk colleagues on regulatory financial reporting and provide technical expertise for UK Finance Reporting change projects.

Requirements

• Qualified or nearly qualified actuary with practical experience of UKGAAP, IFRS 17, and Solvency II financial reporting, mainly for annuities business.
• Excellent technical actuarial knowledge and strong attention to detail.
• Significant practical experience and the ability to provide quality services or products to customers and stakeholders.
• Demonstrable problem-solving experience, including providing practical solutions to complex problems.
• Ability to take responsibility and ownership of assigned work, operate within established frameworks, and use discretion to solve problems.
• Commercial aptitude, including the ability to consider the impact of decisions.
• Strong commercial and collaboration skills.
• Ability to express viewpoints and communicate clearly on complex actuarial issues.
