Audio Production Expert (AI)

Location: On-site at the San Francisco HQ, United States. Work authorization is required in the candidate's country of residence. Visa sponsorship support is assessed case by case.

Salary: $45–$60 per hour.

What you will do

• Define voice-actor casting requirements and review incoming raw recordings.
• Produce high-quality voices through recording, editing, processing, mastering, and delivery.
• Turn Voices team and customer briefs into voices that meet the required fidelity, timeline, and specifications.
• Develop repeatable audio and voice specifications, workflows, and internal IP.
• Support Research and Data with audio for text-to-speech and automatic speech recognition needs.
• Ship systems that scale voice-production efforts and produce voices from raw datasets within defined SLAs.

Requirements

• Deep command of audio fundamentals and the technical details of recording, editing, processing, mastering, and delivery specifications.
• Strong understanding of voice fundamentals, including pitch, timbre, pace, intonation, and room sound, with the ability to describe them precisely to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience using tools such as Claude Code to automate repetitive work and deliver quickly.
• Clear, direct communication and the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Authorization to work in the candidate's country of residence.
• Ability to supply personal equipment, control working methods, and handle applicable taxes as a 1099 contractor.

Nice to have

• Experience with text-to-speech, speech recognition, voice cloning, or speech datasets.
• Experience directing voices in multiple languages or accents.
• Basic scripting with Python, ffmpeg, or SoX for batch work.

Hiring process

• 30-minute recruiting call.
• Two-to-three-hour take-home assignment to build voices from raw multi-speaker recordings using hirify.global's Instant Voice Cloning and document the processing choices.
• 45-to-60-minute live listening review discussing the produced voices, decisions, and potential changes.
