Design Release Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

• Coordinate the design and integration of ECS components and systems using engineering tools and processes.
• Manage program milestones, deliverables, execution, and program team meetings with a high level of independent judgment.
• Conduct technical design reviews, drawing reviews, peer reviews, and design-change assessments.
• Complete and review DFMEAs and DRBFMs and demonstrate that designs meet requirements through analysis, development, and validation.
• Coordinate with component suppliers on design objectives, critical timelines, and program imperatives.
• Work with mechanical design, thermal, structural, and electrical analysis teams, as well as manufacturing, to support buildability and resolve quality requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Five years of experience as a Design Release Engineer, Application Engineer, or in a related occupation.
• Five years of experience with engineering theory, CAD and CAE, GD&T principles, and Unigraphics NX.
• Five years of experience with build-to-print parts or writing specifications and managing suppliers for build-to-spec parts.
• Five years of experience with structural, thermal, and NVH analysis tools and managing suppliers on critical timelines.
