Company

Ramp builds financial infrastructure that automates payment authorization, risk detection, spend categorization, and financial close for businesses.

What you will do

  • Serve as RBCC's legally appointed MLRO, owning the design, execution, and effectiveness of the Canadian AML/ATF program.
  • Act as the primary regulatory contact with FINTRAC, managing supervisory correspondence, reporting, and examination readiness.
  • Make suspicious transaction report filing determinations and submit STRs.
  • Lead transaction monitoring, sanctions-screening triage, and investigations for the Canadian business.
  • Maintain the AML/ATF risk assessment, develop compliance training, and establish operational workstreams, case types, SLAs, escalation paths, and tooling.
  • Work with BMO, other financial partners, Compliance, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Global, and Engineering teams on product expansion, automation, operational efficiency, and AI-driven initiatives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in financial services compliance, AML, or related regulatory advisory roles, preferably in fintech or at a money services business.
  • Deep working knowledge of FINTRAC supervisory expectations and regulations.
  • Direct experience interfacing with regulators and bank partners.
  • AI fluency and demonstrated experience using AI to build and scale AML programs.
  • Ability to operate as a standalone compliance lead with independent judgment on filing and escalation decisions.
  • Experience building an AML program from an early stage, rather than only maintaining an established program.
  • Fintech or payments experience, including card issuing, corporate expense, or high-velocity digital transaction monitoring, is strongly preferred over traditional retail-branch compliance experience.

Nice to have

  • Fluency in French.
  • Experience supporting an MSB registration or licensing process, including provincial registrations such as Quebec.
  • Prior cross-border or group compliance structure experience.
  • Data analysis skills.

Culture & Benefits

  • Remote work in Canada with flexible paid time off and centralized home-office equipment ordering.
  • Health and wellness stipends, weekly coffee stipend, and budget for intra-office travel.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, with additional regional benefits varying by plan and location.
  • Retirement plans with employer matching, parental leave of up to 16 weeks at full pay, and fertility support.
  • Additional benefits include pet insurance, life and disability coverage, employee assistance, virtual care, and private medical options.
  • Relocation expense coverage to New York City or San Francisco if needed.
